Goiter Information Pamphlet

Audience: Patients who may have been diagnosed with a goiter, or the friends or family members thereof.

Medium: Zbrush, Keyshot, Photoshop, InDesign

Purpose: To demystify goiter - a fairly common malady, worldwide - to some degree.

Step 1: Reference

I gathered a broad variety of imagery relating to goiter (none of which I can show here for copyright reasons): patient images, thyroid images and renderings, sketches and models. I made several sketches, both of healthy thyroids and goiters.

Step 2: Ideation

I knew I wanted to present this information as a pamphlet, so I began with the copy deck. Once I had completed that, and had some notion of the imagery I wanted to use I got to work in Zbrush. I used CT data to build the face and skeleton, then modeled the healthy thyroid and goiter atop those. I used Keyshot to render out still images, and then layered those in Photoshop, refining the images and adding details as I went.

Step 3: Initial Renders

I used Keyshot to render out still images, and then layered those in Photoshop, refining the images and adding details as I went.

Step 4: Render

I took my imagery into InDesign for final layout and typesetting.
